Question

I am a co-signer on an auto loan with my boyfriend who is now an ex and he is demanding that i turn the car over to him. I am the one that has been making the payments. Do I have a right to keep this car?

Accepted Answer

The person who's name appears on title, has a legal right to the vehicle. A co-signer only guarantees payment to the lender, that if your ex does not pay, you will be responsible for the debt.
