my wife had an accident in her 1993 mx6 2.5 litre v6 motor and manual box are still fine . I have purchased a 1995 mx6 with blown automatic box is it difficult to exchange the engines or am I better off using the rail ,radiator support and pannels to repair the 93 model

Answer

not without alot of modifying if you had plenty of time and patience, you would need to have both cars sitting there to be able to look at everything and try to swap it prob more trouble than worth really all the wiring is diff the computers diff the clutch brake pedals and on and on and on, you would prob be better of in my opinion finding the correct engine and trans for the car i would think you would save yourself a lot of headaches down the road

not sure of what exactly is wrong with each car, so hard to say but swapping gets complicated very quick, what happened to each of the cars

sorry i didn't finish reading your first post just over looked it i guess i would try to look at all the damage on the wrecked car and decide on what its gonna take to repair it, if it looks like to much you may could sell or trade it to a salvage yard for a good transmission for the 95 car

my wife had an accident damaging the left hand front corner in her 93 mx6 the guard, nose, bonnet, radiator support panel and left rail in front of the strut need replacing the car still drives I am a tig welder /engineer so the repairs dont scare me but after pricing the parts I needed, it was cheaper to buy the 95 model with the auto gearbox problems, this car still drives and is in very good condition but will not select 3rd gear and previous owners drove the car with low engine oil and had to replace head gaskets so the reliability of the motor and box is questionable I was wondering about the engine gearbox swap to save me the respray of the 93 model
