Dear donkey195 You seem to have claudication which can be either neurogenic or vascular in origin. Neurogenic claudication is produced by nerves getting pressed in the spine. Pain comes on standing because spinal canal diameter decreases on standing. In vascular claudication the blood supply to the leg is decreased and pain occurs at rest also. Most likely you are having neurogenic claudication. You can get some relief by starting on flexion exercise for back. Additionally get a prescription for a drug like Neurontin which is used for nerve pain. See link for these exercises. http://www.chiroweb.com/mpacms/dc/article.php?id=35008
