I have purchased a new printer cartridge. The same cartridge I have been using. It is a Lexmark Color Cartridge No. 24 for 3430 printer. After installing this cartridge, the printer gives the message "Cartridge Incorrect. What do I do to solve this problem?

Removing and reinstalling cartridge.

This is a common problem in printers, you might have to have it serviced by an authorized Canon agent.. In the meantime, you can try the following to see if it fixes your problems:

Remove all the ink cartridges.
Turn off the printer.
Unplug the power cord.
Wait for a minute or two.
Reconnect power cord.
Turn on the printer.
Clean the cartridge contacts on the cartridges you just bought with a smooth cloth and water (the contacts on the back of the cartridge, NOT the bottom). Also, clean the cartridge contacts on the printer itself.
Let them dry a few minutes and put them back in the printer. See if you still get the error message.
Note: Don't leave the ink cartridges sit outside the prtiner for more than 30 minutes.
If these steps don't work, you're going to need to contact Canon tech support so they can service the printer.

I appreciate your advice, but it did not fix the problem. Lexmark is sending me a new cartridge for the printer. Please remove the $9.00 from my account.
