I have a 98 VolvoS70. Had the timing belt and A/C compressor replaced last year. Now engine noticeably stutters upon acceleration only when A/C is on. What's up?

Already Tried:
Haven't done anything yet. Contemplating on where to go in the Raleigh area. Also have a Volvo 850 with over 230,000 miles and the check engine just came on. Is that a pre-programmed thing? The 850 runs fine.

No check engine light on the 98 and it is not turbocharged.

when was the last tune up done? check the hose to the throttle body for holes
