Yes the power pack could be a bad one, but before we replace it again lets take a close look at the wire rubber connectors from the powerpack...There are pins and female connectors in the rubber boots, these pins do have a problem with pushing out of the rubber boots when pushed together...
Also I would check the stator output for each charge coil to the powerpack, on this system there are three coils and typically if one goes out it will burn out the powerpack...Also if the stator coils are leaking or cracked they are bad and the stator needs to be replaced.....
