Info Request

HI XXXXXXXX,

COULD YOU GO INTO MORE DETAIL ABOUT THE SYMPTOMS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING.

THINGS SUCH AS PEAK RPM'S YOU ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE BEFORE THE ENGINE STARTS CUTTING OUT.

DID IT HAPPEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE RIDING?

DID IT RUN OK ONE DAY AND YOU PUT IT UP, THEN THE NEXT DAY YOU WENT TO RIDE IT AND THE SYMPTOMS OCURRED?

HOW MANY HOURS ARE ON THE SKI?

HAS IT BEEN SERVICED RECENTLY?

HAS IT HAD ANY REPAIRS OR ALTERATIONS PRIOR TO THE SYMPTOMS APPEARING?

THANKS

Hello,@ the end of last summer we were @ the lake it ran great that morning , Then some kid was riding the ski and came back and said it wasn't running right and said it would act like it was dying , so I rode it ,and it would run great for a couple of seconds then act like it was running out of gas ,sometimes it would die and sometimes it wouldnt it even idled ok at times , So i ran up to the store and tried another fuel filter,Same thing happened ...The ski has not been serviced since i bought it brand new,It has 52 hours on it . and no alterations been done on the ski ...Thanks Ron

Ron,
Did you inspect the fuel in the filter to see if there was water in the fuel? This would be a common explanation for a sudden change in performance like you experienced. This would be even more applicable if the ski was gassed up just prior to you letting the kid ride it.
Beyond that, have you run it with the seat off to watch and see what happens? My other suggestion would be see if you are leaking exhaust smoke in the engine compartment. If you are, the engine is trying to reburn CO2 and that doesn't work.
Let me know
