Answer

Hi XXXXXXXXXXX~

Have you tried warming the food up for the dog? Because dogs generally eat things that smell tempting, and because sick dogs may not have the energy to taste things that don't smell delicious, when we have a sick dog in the clinic where I work who won't eat, we pop the food in the microwave for a few seconds. Warming it up tends to make it smell more appealing, and often times will get the dog to at least lick at it.

You could also try force feeding the girl for the time being. Make a slushy out of the food you were given and some water, and then you can spoon it into her mouth, a little at a time...then tip her head back and hopefully she'll swallow.

I hope this helps.

Accepted Answer

You can absolutely try babyfood! Use one of the meat kinds and mix it with a little water so it's easier to give with the syringe.
