Hello,
does anything happen if you turn the fan switch to on at the thermostat?
Billy
Take te blower door off, tape safety door switch down.
Find the circuit board that the thermostat wires go to. Locate R & G. turn power on to unit and take a piece of wire , paper clip etc and jump R & G together. This bypasses the fan switch in the tstat.
If the fan does not start, but you can spin it by hand and it runs, you need a capacitor. If you can't spin it by hand when it trys to run and feels stiff and resistant...you need a new motor. Try R & G first. I am available for follow up..
what did you find out?
did it start with R & G jumped? Or by spinning by it?
If it started with just R & G jumped, you have a bad thermostat.
If it started by spinning it, it is a bad capacitor
If it did not start by hand spin, it is bad motor.
So if R & G works, leave the jumper on and thaw the coil and then you can get a new thermostat.
