Dear Ms. Juicy:
Thank-you for your question. Could you please give me some additional information?
-Do I understand you correctly in saying that your dog only breathes heavily when he is sleeping and playimg?
-Does he cough at all?
-Does he have a good appetite?
-Has he had any weight loss recently?
-Do you have a reason to suspect that this is a problem?
Thanks,
Dr. Lisa
Only when he's sleeping appetite is fine, no weight loss I'm just concern about his breathing and he's only 3mos and 2wks still a puppy. while playing is fine but when sleeping I'm concern. Is this normal. thanks for answering my question at this time.
It sounds like you have a healthy puppy who plays hard and sleeps hard!
If you notice that he becomes lethargic (lazy), has a decrease in appetite, starts coughing, or in any other way becomes 'not right', you should take in in to your vet. Since he is only 14 weeks old, he is still most likely going in to the vet for regular puppy vaccinations and weighings, so your vet can listen to his heart and lungs and check him out.
You sound like a great mom.
