Question
I have been a property manager for 8 years with an excellent record. The club voted in a new president that is hostile, has eamiled me at work belittling me to where I had the company block his emails and now he wants to evict me for standing up to his somewhat dictatorship and tyrant type behavior. Since I pay my rent through labor would I not be a tenant and his actions seem to borderline retaliation since I have done my job above the call of duty and have numerous members that know this. Can I file retaliatory eviction? Also, I have been ordered for those 8 years to keep my mouth shut about wanting to declare a renters deduction every year and was told I would open a can of worms. I have done my job extremely well but I am dealing with someone who explodes all of the time and makes radical decissions without thinking. How can I protect myself please?

Hi
You are entitled to enforce the terms of any lease agreement. If you have violated the terms of the lease, then the president can seek your eviction.
If you have not violated the lease or rules, then the president cannot successfully seek your eviction. Assuming this is an eviction from real property, you have a right to contest the attempted eviction in court.
If the president violates any of your contract rights, then you can sue the club for breach of contract.
You can best protect yourself by always communicating in writing, so that there is a paper trail regarding your discussions.
I hope my answer helps with your understanding.
