Answer

Hi,

At those numbers it sounds like you may have a slight restriction in the system ( could be the TXV ) however it would probably be more beneficial to retake the numbers during a higher load situation. At 66 EA there really isn't enough load to condemn a part. Is it possible to wait until you get a load in the home to see what kind of numbers we get ? It's going to freeze up at those numbers as most units would in those conditions. What I'm trying to avoid doing is replacing an expensive part and still having the same problem. It really isn't a good situation to condemn anything yet. Are they trying to run cooling when its 66* inside ?

Thanks

Mark

Dont know if you got this, so. 66f was indoor after running about 2hrs.Was 70f when i started. Should super heat & subcooling be so high. How do i tell if txv is bad.Should i be able to obtain correct super heat & subcooling numbers with every unit.

Answer

If every thing was sized correctly then you should be able to get good superheat and subcool readings but your superheat seemed high to me should be no higher than 20 degrees
