Question

We have cats and pet mice. Last night our youngest cat got into the room where out pet mice are in yesterday and knocked over the mouse cage. We were able to retrieve one mouse unharmed, but the cat got the other mouse in its mouse. We got the mouse from the cat, but she did get injured. She is limping a tiny bit, and looks roughed up a bit. She seems better this morning, is able to walk, is able to groom herself, but her breathing seems a little bit faster than normal. She is almost twoyears old, so she may be nearing the end of her lifespan, so I'm debating whether it makes sense to take her to the vet. The fact that she is alive, able to move around, able to groom herself and is eating makes me think that she;ll probably be ok. We're keeping her under observation. Any suggestions?

Optional Information

Age: 2; Female; Breed: Mouse

Already Tried:
I forgot to add that her eye is covered over white, but she can open it a little.

We changed the bedding. She is currently eating and drinking water and moving about, so aside from her eye she looks pretty good.

Dear friend,

Its great that shes eating and drinking. Mice are actually much more hardy than they look.I'm sure she was quite stressed.

Her leg should heal up inn a few days.

Just continue to monitor her for any signs orf inappeite, swelling etc.

I hope she feels better very soon.

Best wishes for her,

Terri
