On a 2005 Chev Colbalt the shifter will not lock in park so the key can not be removed. How to fix?

Welcome. The first thing to check is the boot for the shifter. Make sure nothing has dropped in there and is blocking the shifter. IF that is good, then there is a bulletin from GM about this issue. HERE is a copy of the bulletin.
