Question

On my email screen, the second icon from the left in what might be called the email "toolbar", provides the means for SETTING THE FONT SIZE for emails ("tT"). It ALWAYS "defaults" to font size "10". I prefer font size "12". When I set the font size at "12", and then space down to write the next line, or paragraph, the font size IMMEDIATELY AND AUTOMATICALLY "defaults" (?) back to font size 10. How can I set the font size to a permanent size 12?

Thanks for asking your question here at JustAnswer.com.

I may need one additional piece of information about the problem, please: What version of AOL browser software are you using to access your email? (I presume that you are not using Outlook / Outlook Express nor Thunderbird etc. for your email.)

However, at a guess, these instructions may solve your problem and Answer your question:
Go (in AOL) to Keyword: Preferences.
Select the "Font, Text, and Graphics" option.
Set your Text Preferences to Medium or Large.
Save those changes (or OK them.)
- This ought to change the font size for all messages you compose and send and of course the messages from you that others receive. (But it will not change the size of the text in the messages you read from other people - be warned of this limitation.)
(If you have been using the Text Styling Toolbar just above the place where you type in new emails, then that may be what went wrong - settings done there are non-permanent.)
