Dear Jou,

I am so sorry your boy is ill. As long as he is eating he is doing ok and wants to live.

The Pred may reduce inflammation.

Cats with only 25% of kidney function can do fine via SubQ fluids which can even be administered at home:

Signs he is unwell are inappetite, lethargy, straining to urinate, etc.

Please let me know how he is doing.I will always be here for you.I hope all will be well.

Best wishes and prayers for him.
