I recently purchased a 96 wellcraft excel 21sx. First time in the water I relized the steering is reversed. It has a teleflex rack & pinion system with a power steerig pump. No obvious problems, what are the possible causes?

Hello.. The rack(cable) is mounted to the helm incorrectly. If rack is on bottom relocate to top of helm(4 bolts) or filp helm if needed.

I looked in to that, the rack is on the bottom. It doesn't look like there is room (under the dash) to put the rack on top. It also looks like the steering wheel would have to be remounted ( drilling new holes in the dash).

Hello.. It depends on which teleflex you have, but should not have to redrill anything. Just remove steering wheel & bezel and mounting bolts and flip helm., then rebolt cable to housing. Here is link to instruction manuals for installation, just choose the correct one you have.
