Accepted Answer

Azithromycin does not affect kidneys though there a few case reports.

This medication is eliminated through liver and it can also cause jaundice. So precaution has to be taken if there is any preexisting liver disease.

What you are taking is therapeutic dose.

Even a single 2 gram dose has been shown to be safe and not causing anything on kidneys.

Gastrointestinal effects like vomiting, loose stools and abdominal pain are more common side effects.
