Hi, thanks for using JustAnswer.

Sorry to hear about your skunk problem. These critters are definitely a nuissance. I ran over one in my car once, and my car stunk for a month.

Basically, my approach would be to try the easy stuff first, then the more difficult stuff.

Odors typically reside in surfaces that are porous, but a skunk's odor can stick to metal as well. There is no one single solution, so you may have to do several things.

1. Ventilate the area as much as possible - smells will dissipate with time

2. Shampoo the carpets

3. Wash all your clothes

4. Use a deodorizer such as Febreeze on furniture like couches that can't be washed easily (I've also heard about a product called BON-CC-41 from Bioworld. Here's a link: https://store.bioworldusa.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=41xxx&Category_Code=ONP

5. You might also try a vapor atomizer to filter the air. These are kind of pricey, though

6. Depending on the severity of the odor, you might need to have your air ducts cleaned.

7. If the skunk got in your house, and sprayed the walls, you'll probably need to repaint them with a good primer, such as KILZ.

There are some other home remedies, like putting a bowl of strong coffee in each room of your house, as well as mopping the floors with baking soda & peroxide, but I'm not sure how well these work.

Basically, the more stuff you try, the sooner the odor will go away.

I hope these ideas are helpful. Feel free to follow up with me if you need anything else.
