Ok, most of the PC problems may still occur, but it won't bring down the whole system.
You can run most if not all PC software. Boot times should even be faster since it really doesn't have to bang the hardware. In many cases stuff may even run faster.
The advantages are in the choice of software, there are so many more software titles for the pc (I didn't say good software) that it isn't funny. With a MAC running a virtual PC, you will now be able to run virtually everything! If I could afford a MAC book, you're damn right I would do what you're doing. The only disadvantage to MAC is (at least until recently) is you can't just build one from scratch like a PC. Have fun upgrading the graphics card! Even now that they run on intels and AMD's if you know where to look, you have to get the right hardware or the right MAC system files for your hardware. And I can tell you trying to run a MAC on a PC is ten times harder.
I was tinkering with VMWare and I got as far as Tiger, I never could get leopard to run right. I have a newer CPU now so maybe I'll give it another shot.
The other thing good about MAC is the software is more intuitive. Sometimes with a PC you have to actually read a manual, and no-one likes doing that.....
In my opinion, with a desktop go PC, with a laptop go MAC, and if MAC had half of what the PC has software wise, peeople wouldn't be using windows on it.
Software, software, software, that in a nutshell is why they are doing PC on a MAC.....
(believe me I know, I've been "collecting" software for many years).....
