Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that your bird is having this problem. When the neck is crooked, tilting the head to one side, there is often something causing a problem with balance. The falling may indicate that your lovebird is dizzy. These are symptoms that are not signs of one particular disease or condition. The symptoms can be caused by bacterial infections, fungal infections, injuries, viral infections, tumors, a stroke, or nutritional imbalances. It can be difficult to diagnose the exact cause.

The bird's food and water should be provided on the floor, but be sure the water isn't deep enough for him to drown. If he won't drink, you'll need to take steps to prevent dehydration. You can use a dropper or syringe to put a little water on the bottom of his mouth. You can also give Pedialyte in the same way. Try hand feeding him his favorite foods.

Since it's difficult to figure out the cause, even for a vet, the next step is often to see a vet for antibiotics. If the symptoms are caused by an ear infection, antibiotics will help. If they don't help, another treatment will be tried. If an injury is the cause, the bird may gradually improve. Viral diseases are usually fatal. Answer

Having a helpful companion will help the bird to cope with his condition. However, it won't cure anything if the bird has an illness. An injury may gradually get better, but most of the possible conditions do require veterinary treatment.
