Question

I did my taxes online with turbo tax online. I efiled both my state and federal taxes at the same time. I had an error that needed fixed on my federal and so it was rejected. I noticed that my Arkansas state tax efile was rejected because the federal was. I fixed the federal and efiled again with success but then when I tried to efile my Arkansas state tax it informed me that it couldn't do it because the Federal and State must be filed at the same time. I can't refile my Federal and it won't let me file the state tax without the Federal being done with it. I don't know where to go now and I'm not sure what penalties I will incur also for being late now. I'm in the military serving in the Navy stationed in Bremerton Washington. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Optional Information

Bremerton, Washington

Already Tried:
I have tried to redo my Federal but I already had efiled it and now have the refund back. I tried several times to "fix" the error in my Arkansas state taxes but it was only rejected because the Federal efile was rejected initially.

Hello crazycooter,

If you are unable to e-file your Arkansas state return, the only thing you can do at this point is print out a copy of the Arkansas state return and mail it. If you have a refund due to you, then there will not be any penalties assessed for late filing of this return.

If you owe the state some tax money, then you may also end up owing a small penalty and some interest for late filing, but since the filing deadline was only a week ago, your penalties would be minimal.

If this was helpful please press the Accept button. Positive feedback is also appreciated.

Thank you crazycooter.
