Question

My budgie caught her leg in some wool/twine and by the time I found her, her left leg had gone black. Dead limb I believe. She seems ok, flys around lands and can balance on her dead foot. My question is will this lead to gangreen (misspelt) does in need to be aputaited.

Yes this is a dangerous situation for her if the tissue is dead.

I would suggest seeing an avian vet with her to decide how to proceed.

Birds can do fine with one leg and, with the danger of infection, an amputation may be what is needed if the leg is dead from lack of circulation.
