Info Request

Hi there,

Has she ever lived with a cat?

What are her allergy symptoms?

Thanks,

Terri

She did live with a cat earlier on when she was younger and had to be hospitalized several times. The parents performed most of the same operations with the technology of the time in the 80's. She has asthma issues also.

Has she ever stayed over at your house with the cats?

If so, what happened?

She has come over a few times the first time she prepared and took allergy medicine and was fine for about 3 hours. The second time she came over for about an hour without any medicine. She mostly has breathing issus which may prompt her to using her inhaler. We went to the gym after and she used the treadmill and it was a little more difficult for her to do her regular routine. After the workout the symtoms seemed to disappear.

Answer

Dear friend,

Since you have bought the wipes and filter these things will help. However, there are allergy shots your girlfriend can take that will de-sensitize her to her symptoms.

Most people are not allergic to cat fur but the dander from cat saliva. If you wipe the cats down twice a day her sympoms will be greatly reduced.

Since the cats will be stressed from moving, resulting in more grooming (AND SALIVA) I suggest your girl friend stay at your house until she has been more desensitized and coping with the cats.

Exercise promotes endophins which do help to prevent allergic reactions so that is why she feels better after a workout.

Please let me know how things work out.

Best of luck to both of you,

Terri

The wipes mention to do it once a month should I be using it more than that?

Also allergy shots are extremely expensive aren't they and most insurance doesn't cover it?

Accepted Answer

You mut use the wipes or a damp cloth twice a day morning and evening to remove saliva from the cats fur.

If she has asthma Insurance should cover the shots.

Best wishes to both of you,

Terri
