Optional Information

Male; Breed: Mom was a stray & Pregnant.

Already Tried:
10 and a half weeks old. I have brought a large carrier for him where he is safe to play and sleep. He cannot walk so I have to change his bed and sometimes am able to stimulate him to go on paper towles. I feed him kitten food 3 times a day and milk and water 5 times a day. I spend about 6 hours a day with him and would like to help him get around somehow. Need some advice please.

Answer

Dear friend,

You can feed him whatever he is able to eat easily. Canned food is best.

This disease can develope in the womb if a cat's mother is exposed to distemper while the kitten is in utero or for unknown reasons. Please read:

"The cerebellum is the portion of the brain responsible for the control of motion. When a puppy or kitten is born with an underdeveloped cerebellum, the condition is known as congenital cerebellar hypoplasia. There are infectious causes of this condition in both cats (panleukopenia infection prior to birth) and dogs (herpes virus infection prior to birth). Improper development of the cerebellum may occur due to injury, poisoning or just from an accident in development in the uterus. It is generally possible to see signs of this condition almost as soon as the puppy or kitten is born. Affected animals have tremors and unusual jerky movements or may fall down when they try to move. The symptoms do not get worse as they age. As the kitten or puppy grows it will learn to compensate for its condition but there are usually lifelong signs of a decreased ability to coordinate movement. Almost all dogs and cats with congenital cerebellar hypoplasia can live happily as pets with a little special care to compensate for their disabilities. This condition can be confused with cerebellar abiotrophy, a different disorder in dogs in which the puppy has a normal cerebellum at birth but it gradually dies. Signs of disease identical to cerebellar hypoplasia occur but the timing is different. Puppies with this condition seem normal at birth but usually start to show signs of problems after they are 2 months or more of age."

I have already read this information while doing a search via google.. it does not answer my main question ..Where can I get or what can I get to help him with mobility. Is there a store online where they cater to this kind of pet? Thanks,

Answer

There are several mobility links. Unfortunately most cater to dogs.

What do you think of a pet stroller:

I think they are all to big for a kitten so I'll have to keep looking. How much water and cat milk should I fed him a day since he likes to drink from a baby bottle I think he'd drink all the time if I let him.

I think you misunderstood my question about mobility.. I was referring to something like a wheelchair something that you enable him to learn to walk with aid..

Accepted Answer

I just want to say how much I admire your devotion to this sweet baby!

All the links I posted make wheelchairs. Get in touch with them and see if they will make one his size.

He should have ablout 8 ounces of fluids daily.

Try some canned cat food watered down to a gruel.

I'm going offline now so if you have further questions just reply and I will answer them in the morning.

In the meantime God bless you!!
