Hi,
Word Perfect has a known slow printing issue however installing all available servce packs should take care of the issue http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3%2FDownloads%2FSupportDownloads&pname=WordPerfect+Office+11+%28Standard%29
After you have installed the service packs reboot your machine and try to print again and let us know if that does not take care of it.
Thanks
Eric
I was under the impression that I would pay after the download is working.
Do I download all the updates (not French or German versions)?
Yes,
That is correct you do not hit accept till you are satisfied that this problem is solved.
Just go ahead and install service pack 1 then restart then pack 2 then restart again and install service pack3 and reboot one last time then try it and let us know if you see an improvement.
Patch 1, 2, and 3 are not for the Productivity Pack. I switched to the updates for the productivity pack and got two patches.
I trired to install the first one but received an error merge message saying, "Error 1721, Merge Error: There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. The productivity pack came with a previous computer from Dell.
Ok,
Was the previous package from an XP machine?
Do you still have the disk?
In that case I would like to try uninstalling your current copy then restarting and reloading the software in compatibility mode.
To do this can you click Start, Control Panel then open Programs.
Find your copy of Word perfect then uninstall it and reboot yoru machine.
Once the machine restarts can you put the disk into your machine and cose any windows that open.
Next can you click Start then My Computer and browse to your CD drive then find the Setup or installer file for Wordperfect and right click it.
Next choose properties then click the compatibility tab and tell it to run in compatibility mode for windows XP and close the window.
Next right click the insatller and choose Run As Administrator and load the software then restart your machine once finished.
After it restarts try running your updates again and let us know what happens.
Can you click Start then type winver itn the search box and hit enter.
Let me know what it says.
Windows Vista Home Premium
Microsoft Windows Version 6 (Build 6001:Service Pack 1)
Physical Memory: 3,658,876 kb
Can you confirm you installed the software using the compatibility install that I posted?
Do you have a Vista disk for your machine?
I have the reinstalation dvd for windows vista home premium 32BIT
I had to reinstall it recently as I wiped clean the hard drive because of a virus. I have all the updated patches also on the hardrive.
can you put the cd into your machine then close any windows that open, Next can you click start then type SFC /scannow in the search box and hit enter and let me know what happens.
why are you doing this
what do you expect to happen
what does this command actually do
The command is the SFC (System File Check) what it does is check the files on your machine against the ones on the disk to make sure none of the files on your machine are damaged.
What I am hoping to do is see if the copy of Vista on your machine is damaged or if it is the update package.
no items matched my search;
also used advanced search
Can you click start then type CMD in the search box and hit enter whih should open a DOS window.
From the DOS window can you type SFC /scannow and hit enter.
The response I received was "you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility"
I didn't know what to respond in DOS language.
Click start then type CMD in the search window and then look just above, You should see a comamnd prompt shortcut int he list, Right click it and choose Run as Administrator then when the DOS window opens can you try the SFC /scannow command again.
Put he disk in then run the sfc command so it can compare the files on the machine against the disk.
Here is the result of the action:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
For example C:Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Can you open My Computer and go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and let me know what it shows. Thanks
Three files found:
cbs.bld - date modified 02/11/2006 - 2kb (couldn't open)
CBS - date modified 27/04/2009 - 49,087 kb; (access denied)
CBS.persist - 16/04/2009 - 58,235 kb; access denied (access denied)
If you click the one entitled CBS - date modified 27/04/2009 - 49,087 kb; will it allow you to open it?
Can you reboot into safe mode then try to open the logfile.
Just restart the machine and as it starts can you tap the F8 key slowly till you come to the Safe Mode selection screen, Use the arrow keys to select safe mode then hit enter to select it.
When the machine asks you to login choose the Administrator account and once logged in try to open the file, If it will allow you to open it click File then save and sae a copy to the C:\ drive so we can open it in full mode.
