Question

My 248 LP/Cassette to CD burner and player's audio just died a few months after I bought it. Is there somewhere in NYC to have it repaired?

It's a Crosley CR248 Songwriter CD recorder. It worked well at first, and trhen the quality of the CDs I was burning from LPs and cassettes started to get a little dodgy, and then the audio started to die. I could somethimes get the audio for the radio back on by changing functions and then changing back to radio , but that stopped after a few weeks. It's not the "mute" button, by the way!

Thanks

To my understanding, a Crosley CR248-PA would not be that specialized and most competent audio electronics tech could attend to it. Unfortunately, since this is a rebranded model for Crosley manufactured by a third party company, there are no authrozied service center that I know of. Perhaps it could be returned to the point of purchase?

Offhand, suspect would be the electronic switchover and/or function selector. This would not be a critical repair and parts should be relatively readily available if repirs are done down to component level. On the otherhand, it may be more of a challenge if the repair is done board level. Service charge would be the ongoing rate in your area.
