Question

Took my 15 week old boston terrier to the vet saturday and was told she had hives, they gave her an antiinflammatory shot and said it would clear up, they also gave her some hydroxyzine as needed, my question is should the hives be dry and scabby, i have not seen her scracthing at them they are in a row on her back she does had a few spots where the hair is thin mainly over the large welts that are really scabby. She is eating good playing normal and drinking water. How long should they last and is it normal to have the scabs

When there is a moderate to severe allergic reactions with hives then there can be scab formation when the reaction has passed. This is no real problem and it should slowly resolve in a week or so.

You could put something like Neosporin on them but if they get obviously infected you should have your vet prescribe some antibiotics.
