my 11 month old beagle has not come into season yet i am getting worried as all the books say she should at 9/10 months is this normal thanks

There would be two general possibilities here ...

1. Your dog is just late in coming into her first season, nothing is set in stone here and the situation can be variable. She could still come into season in the next month or so.

2. While you get the odd dog that is born without some part of their reproductive system or has some congenital reproductive problem this is extremely rare. What is much more common is that your dog's first season was a " silent season ", that means that although the hormonal changes occurred there was no sign from the outside, in the majority of these cases future seasons will be normal.

In any case this both the above situations are not normally associated with any problems which would affect your dog's health in any adverse way.
