Question

I have a 13 year old maltese. She woke me with a terrible scream i grabbed her she was totally limp. I thought she was dead. Her eyes rolled in her head and there was no sign of life.She also peed and pooped in my arms. After a couple of minutes of me shaking and rubbing her frantically she came alive. This has now happened 4 times. I am afraid she is in pain and she is going to die. What is going on?

Your girl is either having seizures or is throwing blood clots. I highly recommend getting her into the emergency vet tonight if at all possible. I suspect there may be an underlying heart condition or possibly other organ disease that is causing seizures. I would suggest rubbing some karo syrup on her gums in case her blood sugar is low but I am not expecting this to help too much, just on an off chance that this is causing the seizures.

Your girl will need bloodwork, possibly chest xrays or a heart ultrasound. She should be observed for the day for recurrence so try to get her in as soon as possible.

I am concerned for her and ideally she should be seen ASAP.
