HI mondo,
How long has this been going on?
The dog is five years or months?
Does the dog eat non food items such as rawhides, bones, toys, grass, greenies or pig ears?
Does the dog ever eat human food or could he have gotten into garbage?
Thank you for that information. I would be worried about the rawhide or another non food item that he may have eaten as these can cause a blockage of the intestines. Symptoms will show sudden lack of appetite, vomiting, change in stool, and lethargy.
If there is a blockage from a non food item then surgery will be needed. Since it has been going on for two days it is not likely viral, but if he is not up to date on his shots then parvo needs to be considered.
I would make sure he at least gets some liquid in him to keep him hydrated. Give some children's pedialyte a teaspoon or two every twenty minutes as long as he is able to hold it down.
I would check his gums and make sure they are pink. White or pale gums needs vet attention right away.Take his temp rectally and make sure there is no fever. Normal for dogs is 100.5 to 102.5.
