Info Request

Hi 89

Is it just no water coming out of indicator hose or is engine overheating?

have not let the engine run very long since no water coming out the pee hole-has not overheated-using water muffs

Answer

OK it is very common for the pee hole to become plugged with debris or bugs if in storage. Trying either removing the hose and testing or blow into the tube with compressed air. Also when you installed new impeller are you sure you got the little drive key in correctly?

the key in the impeller is correctly installed-what is the easiest way to remove the hose?

Answer

Not sure on that model if it can be removed easily. Look where the water is supposed to pee out and you should see a black hose usually just pressed on. It should come off the exhaust manifold. If not just blow some air up into it.

there is no black hose-I have 2 pee holes that are made into the upper unit-I have a copper hose that leads to the water pump-is this the hose to blow air threw or plug one pee hole and blow threw the other?

Accepted Answer

Plug one pee hole and blow thru the other then reverse. No need to remove gearcase again. The other way to do it would be to remove the thermostat cover from the top of the cylinder. Start it and see if you have water being pumped up that far. Then you know for sure if the pump is pumping or if the outlet holes are just plugged. Here is a diagram showing where it is located. click here
