Question

I have a small lump in the right side of my throat right below the jawline and when I swallow it only hurts in that area and travels slightly up to the ear canal. The lump is about the size of a cherry. Could anyone tell me what this is?

Actually I have a wisdom tooth coming in on the bottom right side. My ear feels like it has some drainage and I have been having some bad allergies for about a week. When I blow my nose, the mucus is a bit bloody but otherwise, I feel okay.

Also, to help you know my situation better, I have chronic pain that has been thought of by my pain specialist is fibromyalga and have lesions on my uterus that are from having hpv. if you go straight down about an inch past my earlobe into the top of my neck, that is where the lump is. It hurts only when I swallow and seems to travel up my ear and into my jaw where my wisdom tooth is coming in.

Hello,
   By going through all the details you have given it looks that the swelling for which you are bothering is post auricular lymph node .This lymph node drains the area of ear,part of the oral cavity & head.
As it looks by your history that you are having problem with your ear ,This may be reason for enlargement of this node.You should do following to have relief-
1.Take a mild analgesic & anti inflammatory drug like tylenol which will be helpful in relieving the pain & swelling.
2.Take an antibiotic like a combination of ciprofloxacin & tinidazole which have a wide anti bacterial activity.
3.Treat your allergies by having anti allergic drugs like levocetrizine 5 mg once a day on your doctor's prescription.
