Question

Chevy 2007 Silverado with 18,000 miles. Just developed a realy hard 1-2 shift. Seems less hard when 1-2 shift occurs going uphill. Tranny fluid level is OK, and fluid still light red in color.

Info Request

Hi and welcome to Just Answer!

Is the vehicle still under factory warranty?

When was the last time the vehicle was at a GM dealer?

I assume so, I bought it new. I just want to understand the problem better, so I can interface with the dealer's repair manager better.

Take a look at this link--same problem as mine.

Thanks.

Answer

Tell the service manager to have the VCM updated. Thats what is in control of your shifting directly.
