Question

I have a gas heater that is sooting badly, there was no adjusting the main flame, I want to replace the robertshaw-grayson control but don't have the make of the unit. How do I order a 700mvrb-6-lc-lp 709-817-489(max1/2 psi) for milivolt system only XXX-XXXX   9635 assembled in mexico?

Before you get a new valve, did you have a pressure check done? And are you nat gas or LP

HI billy,

It's LP only up here, I haven't checked the pressure yet but i will do so.

It's an old glass fronted small stove. The other appliances are working fine

so I don't think it's pressure. It can't be too old as it has a Pieso starter.

I've got yellow flame on pilot and main flame. I could adjust the pilot but not the

main flame. So, how do I order a new control that fits?

Hi Big, are you sure this unit was converted to lp? having a yellow pilot and burner is a sign of air/fuel mix way off. This is common if the unit has a nat gas orifice and gas valve. Also soot can cause this to worsen. You can check with parts.com for the part and tonight I will see where else you could obtain one
