Question

SES lite on, Saturn sl1 2000 model. Code 0910 I believe, Saturn dealership . Mech put in a "work around" and told me to drive it (All types of conditions) for 7-10 days. Did that and mech now says "readiness codes" not ready yet.

Optional Information

2000 Saturn SL1 1.9L 4cyl

Already Tried:
Replaced actuator and solenoid valve in Air (smog)pump circuit in Sept.07. No issue with SES light until this winter about Feb.09.,came on again. This time, it has stayed on for over 1 month. Failed emission test 2 wks ago at Saturn dealership here, and they said they would take the Air induction out of the OBD system. Then, to drive it in all types traffic for 7-10 days. Went back, they now say the "readiness" condition for OBD is Not ready to pass (I guess), and I'm frustrated to heck. Please get me something soon if possible. tks, JTC

Accepted Answer

If they removed the air induction monitoring program temporarily and reconnected it it could take a few hours or a few days for it to complete its readiness tests. When you disconnect a system like that and restart it the computer must monitor that system until it sees all the conditions and signs it needs to see in order to accept its input or operation. Just keep driving it for a while and have it checked in a little while. I know it must be frustrating but unfortunately there aren't many options. Good luck and thank you.
