Question

2 days ago my dog (a 5yr old chihuahua mix - 6 pounds) suddenly (10 min period) turned very pale, was laboring to breathe, non responsive, looked as if though she would die at any moment. approx. 30 min. later she seemed to be coherent, regained some of her color (she has very short coat and her skin tone is easily seen). She did not ingest anything, she is an indoor dog and lives with another dog and a number of cats, no other animal seemed to be effected. She is eating (lightly) and drinking, the day of the initial episode, she threw up prior and labored to relieve herself, her stool was full of blood, since - her stool has been semi normal to just moments ago very bloody. Do this symptoms sound like anything you have encountered?

This sounds like it may have been an internal bleed of some sort that stopped resulting in her recovery that you saw.

She might have swallowed a non food item leading to this, it could be a pancreatic inflammation which you can read about here

Or a condition called Canine Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) which you can read about here
