Question

Had a little problem re; Electric going off, now when I turn on machine it will not work, just the green light (finish light) flashes. Having read the manual, it states that 4 flashes..door open. 2 flashes...problem with water draining. 1 flash... problem with water supply. Mine is flashing 11 times!

Hi Bob,
It's a Zanussi washing machine, nearly 4 years old. The model number is FA 1035E. Cold only fill. Never given me a problem till now, but I am just guessing at the fault being caused by having a few electric problems last week, ie; surges. If you require any further info, please don't hesitate to get in touch, I will be on line for the next 40 mins.

Kate, by any chance did the power go off during a time when the machine was running? If may not even have to be running in order for a surge to reach the solid state controls. Are you familiar with troubleshooting using a volt/ohm meter? Bob

No, the power did not go off while it was running. I am not familiar with the volt/ohm meter, but my brother-in-law is I think, because he was an Auto Electrician.

The control panel is not lit, only the flashing green finish light comes on & off when I turn the machine on, nothing else. I can get hold of my brother-in-law (Sam) at any time, as he lives nearby.

What your going to have to determine is if the control panel is getting power. If it is and its not operating then its going to need to be replaced. If your not able to do that test then your going to either have your brother-in-law check it out or you will have to call a service technician to do it. I really can't say for sure whats wrong unless I have answers to these questions because I am not there to do the testing myself. Bob

Hi Bob,
As I am in Spain, it is now 12.10 and past my bedtime!ha,ha.
I will get Sam to do the test for power in the morning. Can I get back to you tommorrow with the results of the test?

Hi Bob,
Sam tested to the best of his ability to see if any power was going to the control panel/programmer. We have a power supply!
