Model LG7801Xsw1 Gas.
I have checked the door .
Problem seems to be in operating panel where the start button is. When I set dryer to cycle position I hear a soft murmer like something electrical is happening but the button doesn't work.

ok so if it doesn't start it's either going to be a thermal fuse that is broken, your start button, or your door switch. Open the door and push on the door switch to make sure it clicks then close the door and make sure the switch clicks just before the door closes. Start with that first and let me know what you find.

well could have a bad fuse. Take the lower back panel off on your dryer. There is a thin white plastic device near the bottom middle. Check the resistance of this part. It should read less than 1 ohm if it's still good. If not then replace it.
