Hi,

This is a alarming problem and needs urgent attention.

While most of the cause for this Dissociation are Neurologic in nature some are Metabolic and some are Psychiatric in nature.

Neurology causes include: infections, trauma or tumors which are occupying an area of the brain

Metabolic causes include: Hormonal and GI disorders

Psychiatric causes include: Fugue and dissociation disorders.

You will note that I have not been able to give names of specific diseases and rather spelt out the body systems which are usually at fault here. This is because the diagnosis can only be arrived at after a thorough exam and tests.

I think if your doctor has not been able to say anything, you must get a second opinion. You may go to a neurologist or psychiatrist first to get this examined.

As you probably understand, this disorder can lead to a lot of harm, I would insist that you can go doctor ASAP.
