Question

My Bmw 325i 1993 Car is blowing its fuel pump fuse (#18) and leaving me stranded. it doesnt seem to be doing it and any particular interval or time it just blows when i least expect it. I need to know how i should be fixing this issue.

Greetings XXXXXXX,

It sounds like the pump is faulty and drawing excessive amperage when hot...only other possibility is an intermittent short to ground somewhere in the system wiring and / or components...or finally an intermittent high resistance condition in the circuit...these intermittent problems are hard to diagnose without the proper equiptment and experience;so I would recommend having an electrical specialist check the amp draw throughout the circuit for you in order to pinpoint the problem...like I said my first thought would be a faulty pump ; but I wouldnt spend the money to replace it until I had the system thoroughly tested by a professional...jeffrey590
