my speedometer stopped working in my '88 735i

Hi

 

The speed sensor pick up is in the rear differential first thing to do is remove and clean sensor.

sometimes what happens is build up of grease/grit from differential it blocks signal from sensor wheel.

 

When this is ok could you give me more info on how it stopped working?
