Optional Information

1997 Plymouth breeze 2.0 liter 4 cyl

Already Tried:
I was driving and i heard a pop under the hood, and the car turn off and would not restart, when i stopped, there was water (radiator fluid) leaking from under the car, so i am assuming the timing belt broke and the seal broke from the water pump. Is this correct?

No hoses where burst.

Accepted Answer

Without seeing the leak it would be difficult to say if the problem is the water pump but if the leak is near the front of the engine the problem is likely the water pump. coolant will actually destroy a timing belt so if the water pump has been leaking a little for awhile it likely took out the timing belt. the estimated cost for these repairs is about $490.00 parts and labor
