Larry how are you?. got an issue here,.stbd engine , ran them today on the hose,.boat has not been to the watr yet since cyl head repairs,.hose on flush connectors,.stbd temp alarm comes on after a few minutes,.port does not do that,.water flow apparently same at engine discharge holes,.if I run the engine with ears directly to water intaks the problem does not occur,.when I first noted scenario,.I removed the thermostat,.and run water thru system from water intake tube with lower unit removed, just to check for flowage,.thru all passages,.have concerns over an area called water jacket,.on the side of the cyl block,.where the temp sensor is and a water bypass something also,.
other concerns; coamshaft mixup,.cyl head gasket misplacemnt,.which I think can only go one way,.to match water holes,..
after assembly I and timing belt install.I tuned engine twice by hand ,.with plugs removed,.then cranked,.then installed plugs and fired,.no problems there,...
Tomorrow,.I plan to run with diagnostic sys installed to check temp.
I did replace both water pump kits, the stbd engine had a different housing plate,.than the port engine,.anyway,.both new,.new impoellers,.new o rings., new thrmostats,.
Next step to run with lowers in water to see actual pick/up discharge rate,.and see if overtemp occurs,.that after dignostic with computer installed,
Let me know your suggestions please,.funds ready. thanks Armando

thanks Larry, you were right engines ran perfect,..when I put boat in water,.before leaving trailer,.I lowered engines and started,.both have strong constant water flow from discharge holes...i did let them warm up and then we took the intercoastal towards brownsville, ship channel,.smooth water there for power-up pretty even at 4900 rpm,.fuel consumption about 8.5 gph,.speed 31 mph both on gps and engine dynamic pressure instrument,..ran 12 miles,.we plan to another proving run, as the FAA calls it,.when checking a jet for air taxi qualification,...checked oils,.no leaks w/ level slightly below max mark on dipstick,.I say that because the port engines apparently has a leal on one of the seals for the oil pump,.or lower case seal,.anyway I saw no oil leaked,...I drained 12 gal of gas out of the bottom and lowest part of the fuel tank to absorbe some dirt and little water,..the fuel is last years,.has stabilizers,.pri-g etc etc,.I will replace 30 or so gallons to mix new fuel with older one,.when I ran could not see any smoke or anything abnormal,.heck I cant hear the engines running at idle have to see instruments and water pump discharge,..anyway, thanks for your most valuable help and support,..we are getting ready for offshore here,..running checks and inventory of all emer gear,..
thanks Armando Garza
