Answer

Hi XXXXXXXXXX,

That is cutting it kind of close. Besides, it is much much easier to renew a passport than to let it expire, and then have to start a new one. There is enough time to renew it if you start right now. If you have your tickets for your trip, you may even get your processing expedited (might cost extra so be careful). The costs are minimum.

This way, with a "fully loaded" passport, you will have no issues should anything unplanned (e.g., sickness) take place. It will also make travel to any other nearby countries a much better bet.

All-in-all, you sound like you may want to travel in the future; why not just get the renewal done today? It can even be done at your local post office -- most will even take the photos for you right there. An appointment is recommended.

If this has enough information for you, then please use the accept button. If you need more, just write back with any other specifics in which you may be interested.
