OK, normally a searching idle is caused by a vaccum leak. I would start by spraying carb cleaner around the intake manifold where it bolts to the heads. If the idle increases or smooths out, then you have a vaccum leak and the gaskets will need to be replaced. Try this test and let me know the outcome and we can take it from there.
