do you have to be a licensed locksmith in the state of virginia to install a slide bolt?

Accepted Answer

Not if your installing this for yourself. If your doing it for hire and there is any sort of locking mechanism involved then yes licensing is required. If no locking device is part of it then it's nothing but a minor maintenance job.
