Replaced keyboard on Satellite A55. The diaginal row of 8,i,k,comma does not work. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Make sure the keyboards ribbon cable is firmly in place and has not been unseated during the installation process.

Did I mention that it is a brand new keyboard?

Yes which means it could have been a manufacturing defect. To make sure though, please be sure the ribbon cable between the keyboard and motherboard is securely inserted. Many times I have seen users partially remove it as they attempt to re-assemble the laptop.
