This question reminds me of my medical school age :). There are three terms infact

1) Replication:

It is duplication of DNA which is a very important process during protein formation.

2) Transcription:

It is simply the formation of RNA from DNA which involves separation of DNA strands and then synthesis of RNA from each strand of DNA as a template using enzyme RNA polymerase.

3) Translation:

It is the formation of Protein from RNA in ribosomes.
