how do i get the electrical part off from the camshaft sensor so i can replace it on a 1998 plymouth breeze 2.0 engine and is their a certain way it goes back on

i have the camshaft sensor off the engine but i can not get the electrical part off from the sensor itself how does it come off

Carefully inspect plug.
Insert a small flatblade into shaded area & release the plastic locking tab to release plug

do you mean insert the blade in through the back above where the wires are i have done that but it still will not release. how hard should i push it

The image shows what the plug should look like.
The green area is where the small flateblade goes into, unless you are refering to the Plug in the second diagram:

where the Tab is on top & you would lift the tab & pull down on plug to release

Answer

The Plug should seperate from the Female part.
Unless I am not understanding which plug you have.........
It is snug, because there is a rubber seal inside
